 FAQ's

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Sometimes I'll get a message telling me I need a plugin.
A: 3DASA scenes consist of vrml files - these require a viewer.

Q: Loading some scenes seems to take a long time.
A: 3DASA scenes can be complex. Some scenes use primitive objects while others may use the more complex meshes, ultimately files size is determined by the level of detail required - complex scenes take longer to load.

Q: Reloading seems to take a long time.
A: 3DASA scenes are, by their nature, larger than standard web pages. We recommend cache settings of at least 512k for improved refresh rate performance.

Q: On my computer the vrml scene moves in jerks and bounds.
A:
There are several ways to answer this:
1. Some video cards have difficulty refreshing large screen sizes - so open a new window and resize it to smaller proportions, this reduces the load on your video card.
2. If you haven't already done so change your screen color setting to 256 color.
3
. For Cosmo Player users - under Preferences | Graphics, check "Force Software-only Rendering".
4. Scenes are optimized to Cosmo Player - get Cosmo Player.

Q: When I goto a page with radio buttons none of them seem to work.
A:
Javascript - This is a javascript enabled site. Popup windows, object instance, timed delays etc. are all made possible because of scripts. The radio buttons referred to rout an instruction set through a javascript routine creating a user defined model in a new window.

Enable "javascript", see your browsers help system.

Q: When I click the browsers back button the current scene reloads.
A:
History object - Popup windows are one of the dynamic features of this site - so when a new window is opened its presence is recorded in the browsers history log - it's this log you are cycling back through.
