BakersVille3 [
Track Tips]
[Designed by and for] the motocross
racing community. BakersVille3 is about enjoying the ride, having dreams,
improving your timing and, for the developer anyway, exploring other worlds.
[Shape] This is a tri-oval.
In life as in the game it's a practice track. Primarily
used by pee-wee and mini riders it presents
challenges in both worlds. Game scale has been adjusted
for the larger bikes used in MCM2. The tracks intent is to entertain
both Amateur and Professional riders.
[Credibility] Credible performance
in the game was a primary concern. We tried to replicate
observational data. In other words if a population
of riders have been observed having difficulties on the real track
then those same difficulties should be found in the game.
[Rider Skill] Track obstacles are skill dependant which
means that Professional riders should be challenged less than Amateurs. In both cases however
riders should be challenged equally.
[Theme] Space is our theme.
Built in tribute to the fallen members of Columbia
[NASA’s space Shuttle] the track was constructed during
the time the space orbiter was to return home.
BakersVille3 [the game] takes place on Mars [the red planet] in the Valles
Marinaris region. This is the region of the planet often referred
to as the Grand Canyon of Mars. It was selected for it’s rich
topographical data. The Valles-Marinaris canyon walls make up
the backdrop images in BakersVille3.
[Cross Country] Cle-Elem vegetation and topography should
look familiar to those riders falimiar with that name. If landing the uphill jump from
a backside launch off of turn #1 sparks memories, it should - think of "ole #3".
[Developer Notes] This track
marks a first. It's the first time custom objects have been included in a
MCM2 game by developer. In as much as custom
objects are allowed in MCM2 and a requirement exists to include
them they will continue be added. In it's current configuration
[March 16, 2003] BakersVille3 is complete.
