Apache
Modeled in 3DS Max ( credit to author ) the Apache image
sequence used in this display consists of 200, 310x239 JPG
files totaling 1.5 meg.
The Data
The Apache geometry was created in 3DS Max. Solids consist
of the vehicle and minor terrain elements. Special effects
consist of Camera Shake and Motion Blur the latter of which
was assigned to the crafts rotor blades.
The Journey
Object reuse can best describe our journey. Using Mt St Helens
top view image map we assigned zero width and nominal height
values to our DHTML "you" pointer. This resulted
in a linear path where the viewers position is fixed with
the camera, the effect is that the camera zooms in on the
target - the helicopter.
The Result
A low tech method of displaying image clusters in a web browser.
